In the midst of transporting all sorts of different liquid and dry bulk chemicals, Bertschi is also involved in food industry logistics. Being a Swiss company, we are delighted to share that we take part in the production of Swiss chocolate, through our transportation of cocoa butter.
Bertschi provides logistics services for one of Switzerland’s famous luxury confectionery manufacturers. Each day, we carry out road barrel transports, with containers kept at 45-60° Celsius, filled with cocoa butter, between our customer’s production sites.
Cocoa butter is a key ingredient in the production of chocolate. It is a semi-solidified oil obtained from cocoa beans, with a high content of saturated fats. It gives luxury chocolate a deliciously smooth-melting property, and is what makes the chocolate firm when cold and soft when warm. The cocoa butter is produced after the fermentation and roasting of the cocoa bean.
