Yellow Hearts - Full of Empathy and Compassion

Recent months and indeed years have been very challenging for all of us. First the Covid crisis pushed us all to our limits, and now an unnecessary war is filling us with concern and sadness. Particularly in difficult trying times, it’s so wonderful to see Bertschi employees getting involved to make a difference.

Crises can paralyse us. They can rob us of our energy and the ability to see the positive, and hold us back. But they often also show us how much strength lies inside us, and how much can be achieved with solidarity, compassion, and empathy.

Particularly in times of crisis we see the human heart from its best side, and in moments like this we are touched by the hearts of our employees. We want to show you what we can achieve as a community.

Relief efforts for Ukraine

With war raging in Ukraine, Bertschi employees came together to help. In some of our locations and at headquarters, campaigns for donation were launched in which goods were collected, loaded into Bertschi trucks and transported to people in need.

The generosity and hard work of our Bertschi colleagues for the war refugees have been very touching.

Lifesaver in France

We have a hero in our midst. Last December, Bertschi driver André Schwarz risked his life to free a man who was unable to escape his burning car unaided after a terrible accident in Saint Georges, France.

The local French newspaper reported the story, and the victim thanked André for his heroic deed. We’re inspired by and proud of the heroic assistance rendered by our employee!

Support for school in Albania

Last summer, one of the local primary schools in Rotterdam received new furniture and decided to donate its old furniture, which was still in good condition. Bertschi mobilised a team, a truck, and a container to lend the school a hand. Now these tables, chairs, and cupboards are on their way to Albania, where they will furnish a school for 200 children.

The great compassion and dedication demonstrated by Bertschi colleagues in crisis situations have touched our hearts. We would like to thank all of our Bertschi colleagues for their big hearts and their willingness to pull together in tough times.
